About Our Farm Dan & Sarah Brouwer, of Prinsburg, MN, run Brouwer Berries. This will be the 11th strawberry season they have opened their farm to the public and they've enjoyed getting to know a growing group of strawberry-lovers in the area. They began in 1999 when Dan came home with 1500 strawberry plants and told Sarah he wanted to start a U-pick hobby farm. After a bit of hollering, she agreed to try it. Each year, they've learned a bit more, and made the field slightly larger to accomodate all the friends, and friends of friends who began to eagerly wait for the start of the season. In 2010, they will have, Lord willing, 1.5 acres of strawberries in production, of 9 different varieties to extend the fruiting season. Strawberries can be pre-ordered for pick-up at the farm, or a farmer's market, or you can come to the farm to pick-your-own. The strawberry season will be followed by limited raspberries, to be sold only at local farmer's markets. There is nothing sweeter than a fresh, Minnesota-grown strawberry! If you cannot make it to the farm, subscribe to the e-mail list, or become a Brouwer Berry Facebook Fan to find out when we'll be at local farmer's markets. U-Picking: If you enjoy the outdoors you are going to really enjoy your visit! You can pick your own berries while listening to the birds' serenade. If you have time you may tour the beautiful flower & water gardens.
